Break Free...Live Free!!!

Ramnagar, Uttrakhand: I looked up- the freshness of the Himalayan water falling on my face. There was dense green cover all around- the loud thump of falling water echoing through the lonely branches. There was only one word to describe this experience: bliss!

The busy life of the corporate world starts leaving you with lesser time to do other things- especially when you have Saturdays working. So when an opportunity presented us (me and a few friends) to go on a bike trip (a la`- wild hogs) we grabbed onto it with both hands. So the four of us went wild- quite literally, an expedition to the one of the many waterfalls near the Jim Corbett park region.

Ten minutes into the drive- and I realized that this was one rubber burning experience that had been amiss-driving down with the cool breeze playing with your hair- pure air courtesy the large cedar trees of Haldwani, interspersed with glimpses of the more amiable wild animals- deer, monkeys and the blue birds. The two hour journey did not look like one- my mind realizing the true communion of nature and man- processed natural rubber (tires) grinding against the tar laden snake line (roads), in the shelter of the life giving greenery- with the human zeal & adrenalin rush of doing something new!

So we reached the waterfall- which was literally in the middle of the jungle- (a small fear in my heart of coming face to face with one of the feline species), jumping over puddles of water, tripping on the algae covered rocks and finally having all our worries and tensions washed away by the magical water. The whole journey made me realize- sometimes, just sometimes, we should let go!

Life gives and takes- it always will. So how do we combat the daily challenges that the little devil called life throws at us? I’ll say by trying out a new thing- something far away from our comfort zone. Let's not wrap ourselves in a small cocoon of limitations, 'I don't want to' & 'I'd rather not', and move to a "Maybe I should!"

Don’t let the cocoon of life encompass you-break it open and come out- invigorated!
